altitude uphill: approx. 1,520 m

highest point: approx. 2,521 m

difficulty: average

total walking time: 3.5 to 4 hrs

At “Moosalm” you can decide whether you want to walk along the edge of the slope, or from the pond “Taxer Moos” along the path “Russenweg” to the top station of the H3 T-bar lift. From there, the trail continues along a flat path to the hut “Hochstein”.

From the hut “Hochsteinhütte”, walk westwards along the ridge to the Hochstein summit (2,057 m) and further to the “Böses Weibele” summit. From there you will have a great view over the valleys and the surrounding mountains. Both the descent to the hut “Hochsteinhütte” and the ascent from the hut “Hochsteinhütte” are possible via the ski slope

Tip: If you are less sporty, you can end your tour at the hut “Sternalm” (approx. 1 to 1.5 hrs ascent) or at the hut “Hochsteinhütte” (approx. 2 to 2.5 hrs ascent). From both huts you can ski down to the valley on ski slopes.
