safety on the slopes
1. Consideration for other skiers
Every skier should behave in such a way that he/she does not endanger or harm others.
2. Control over speed and skiing style
Every skier must ski on sight. He/she must adapt his/her speed and skiing style to his/her ability, to terrain-, snow- and weather conditions, and density on the slopes.
3. Choice of track
A skier coming from behind must choose his/her track in such a way that he/she does not endanger skiers ahead.
4. Taking over
Overtaking is allowed from above or below, from right or left, but always only with a distance that gives the skier being overtaken enough space to do his/her turns.
5. Entering the slope and setting off
Every skier entering a slope or setting off after a halt, must look upwards and downwards to make sure he/she can safely do so.
6. Stopping
Skiers must avoid stopping at narrow or unclear places on the slope. A skier who has fallen must clear such a place as soon as possible.
7. Ascent and descent
A skier ascending or descending on foot, must use the edge of the slope.
8. Follow the signs
Every skier must follow markings and signs on the slopes.
9. Help
Every skier must provide help in case of an accident.
10. Compulsory identification
Every skier, whether witness or involved, whether responsible or not, must identify him/herself in case of an accident
